Cathy Gibson joined Mackoul in 2022. Cathy’s career started as a Relationship Manager in the Financial Services industry with JP Morgan Chase. She quickly moved into a Team Leader role managing a Series 7 licensed team of Account Managers for the affluent market. Cathy also worked with the Chase Investment services technology team to assist with designing a sales and service application for the investment business. Cathy was ready for a new challenge that would complement her financial service background, so she transitioned into the insurance industry, where she has over ten years of Account Management experience.  She specialized in reviewing and binding insurance policies and took pride in building client relationships and ensuring they were well protected in the event of an unexpected loss. She also has valuable experience determining liability and assessing damage in the auto claims industry. Cathy is licensed to sell and service property and casualty, as well as life and health policies. Cathy also has an Auto Field adjusters license and is a licensed Notary Public. Cathy graduated from Adelphi University with a BS in Business Management.  She loves to go to the theater in her spare time.

Get to Know Cathy

What does your title mean to you?

Having the expertise to advise insureds on how to best protect themselves and their assets. Building trust and relationships with clients is very satisfying.  Letting them know that I have their best interests at heart.

What gets you fired up about coming to work?

Working with a group of motivated and friendly professionals that are very supportive. Regardless of positions and levels, everyone is treated like family.  This office trait is hard to find.  I’m very fortunate to be a part of the team.

Why did you go into Insurance? What do you enjoy most?

After experiencing 9/11 I decided to no longer work in Manhattan and find a position closer to home.  A friend recommended me to an insurance agent, and I was thrilled to learn a new field that complimented my financial services background.  I enjoy building relationships, helping clients and getting referrals from satisfied clients.

What’s your favorite song on your playlist? Why?

I love many different genres of music.  I absolutely love Bridge Over Troubled Water by Simon & Garfunkel.

What character trait do you most admire?

I love someone that is funny and positive.

What is the best advice you have ever been given?

To treat others as you’d like to be treated.

What is the one thing you cannot do without?

My family.
