What gets you fired up about the workday?

The energetic, friendly, and supportive management and staff I get to interact with on a daily basis. It’s the people and friendships at Mackoul that have made work an exciting thing to do instead of feeling like a chore. We treat each other like a family, and that is a very rare thing to get in a workplace, in my opinion.

Why did you go into insurance? What do you enjoy most?

I went into insurance because it is an exciting, high-paced environment with so many different areas and opportunities. It remains in a constant state of movement, with policy terms and companies, state laws, and regulations shifting very frequently. The constant movement is what I enjoy most because I learn something new every day.

What advice would you give to someone interested in starting a career in insurance?

I would advise them not to be afraid to start at an entry-level position because there is so much room for advancement and growth in insurance. As long as one chooses to pay close attention to advice and guidance from others in your company, they become your greatest mentors and will wish to see you succeed as much as you hope to.

What’s your favorite song on your playlist? Why?

“Desperado” by the Eagles because I find it to be one of the best songs ever written, and come on, who doesn’t love The Eagles? They’re one of the classics.

Who would you most like to meet and why?

I would love to meet my great-great grandparents because I think it would be really interesting to know more about where I come from.

What character trait do you most admire?

What is the best advice you have ever been given?

My grandfather constantly encouraged me and others to “Get Bold, Not Old.” This is one of the best pieces of advice I’ve ever gotten because it’s empowered me to believe that you can achieve the life you want at any time or age, as long as you have the confidence to drive yourself in the direction of your dreams.

Describe yourself in three words.

It means never forgetting your own worth.
