Group Life

Group life insurance provides death benefits on the lives of employees of a business, members of a labor union, or members of an association. Group life insurance benefits are established based on the risk factors of the group as a whole, so older or unhealthy members of the group are protected from being singled out and denied life insurance benefits. No medical underwriting is required up to a certain imit ($100,000, $200,000, etc.).

Group Long Term Disability

Group long term disability insurance is a critical element of protection for employees who become sick or injured. It helps the disabled employee meet their financial obligations while they are unable to work. Group long term disability insurance replaces a portion of an employee’s income, usually 50 to 60 percent, depending on the group contract while the employee is disabled. Benefits begin after usually after a 90, 180 or 365 day waiting period and continue until age 65, if the employee remains disabled. Depending upon the group insurance contract, benefits, partial disability, rehabilitation and other benefits may apply.
