Putting Your Broker on Notice

By November 27, 2017April 14th, 2022Blog, Claims

Sometimes clients want to know why notice only to your broker doesn’t work. Your broker is the intermediary between you and your carrier. Your carrier is the only entity that can evaluate your claim, determine coverage, and issue payment. Placing your broker on notice is equivalent to placing your carrier on notice. Requesting that the broker not send to the carrier puts both you and your broker in jeopardy. Please keep in mind that failure to send claims directly to the carrier in a timely manner could potentially impact coverage.
