Work Desktops, Home Office Laptops, Tablets and Smart Phones- With so many options these days, people utilize more than one device to store their important files. Now with free software, you can access your files on any device from anywhere without fumbling over USB storage devices or emailing yourself constantly.
Do you find yourself emailing files over and over again to make sure you have them if you need them? Have you ever misplaced a USB storage device that held an important file? Have you ever reached your destination realizing that you left an important document stored on another device?
At Mackoul Risk Solutions, we’ve found LogMeIn and Dropbox to be incredibly useful. We wanted to share this business efficiency tip with you so that you too can have your files with you wherever you are, as long as you can access the internet.
How to Access your Files from Anywhere:
1. LogMeIn–
Used by over 125 Million devices worldwide, LogMeIn provides software solutions most commonly used for accessing and controling a desktop remotely, sharing files and backing up data. Certain options must be paid for, but the software that allows you to access your desktop remotely is free.

It works universally across multiple systems including Windows PC, laptop, or Pcket PC, a Mac, iPhone, iPad, and even a Ford 150 truck! This has been especially helpful in allowing me to share files between a Windows PC and a Mac laptop.
2. Dropbox–
Dropbox is an excellent solution for storage and file sharing. While it will not give you access to your entire desktop, and you must install and set it up, Dropbox provides you with an option to share and access your files from anywhere. Like LogMeIn, Dropbox is also compatible with multiple operating systems, including Windows, Mac, Android and iOS.
