Bringing Sunshine to the Community Through Good Deeds

By August 9, 2011April 15th, 2018General Updates

In an effort to “bring sunshine” to our surrounding communities, our company has created “The Sunshine Committee.” This committee is actually a group of our own employees who search for events that we can participate in as a group and help others. Our goal is to raise money or lend a helping hand for worthy causes. In doing so, we’ve found that this is also a great way to get to know your co-workers outside of the workplace.

For our first event, we participated in the Long Beach Waterfront Warriors 5k walk/run. We all had a great time running or walking for such a great cause; which is to bring happiness to the selfless veterans who have fought for the freedom of our country. If you would like to see our facebook album of the event: click here. The event was made all that more meaningful as our CEO, Robert E. Mackoul, is actually a decorated Vietnam Veteran himself. If you are interested in this cause, the Long Beach Waterfront Warriors hold numerous events throughout the year. Click here to go to their website: Long Beach Waterfront Warriors

For our next event, we will be participating in the Walk & Roll on the Long Beach boardwalk to benefit families with Spinal Muscular Atrophy (SMA) on September 17th, 2011 starting at 10 am. If you would like to join us, please click this link to register: SMA Walk & Roll

It is never too late to get involved with a cause that needs the help of people who care. How are you involved with your community? Do you know of any events that you think our Sunshine Committee could help with? Please comment on our blog as we created this committee to reach out to others and help!
