Get to Know Liz

What gets you fired up about the workday?

The energetic, friendly, and supportive management and staff I get to interact with on a daily basis. It’s the people and friendships at Mackoul that have made work an exciting thing to do instead of feeling like a chore. We treat each other like a family, and that is a very rare thing to get in a workplace, in my opinion.

Why did you go into insurance? What do you enjoy most?

I went into insurance because it is an exciting, high-paced environment with so many different areas and opportunities. It remains in a constant state of movement, with policy terms and companies, state laws, and regulations shifting very frequently. The constant movement is what I enjoy most because I learn something new every day.

What advice would you give to someone interested in starting a career in insurance?

I would advise them not to be afraid to start at an entry-level position because there is so much room for advancement and growth in insurance. As long as one chooses to pay close attention to advice and guidance from others in your company, they become your greatest mentors and will wish to see you succeed as much as you hope to.

Honesty.

What is the best advice you have ever been given?
