Winter, Snow and Ice Damage Prevention for Your Insured Property

By November 14, 2012August 1st, 2018General Updates

Hurricane Sandy and the Nor’easter that followed caused devastating damage throughout the coast and many businesses and individuals are still in the middle of the recovery process. Catastrophes like this remind us how brutally important it is to prepare for the worst when storms strike.

Our first snowfall came early this year and caused significant damage throughout the area last week. What can you do to make sure you’re prepared for the winter months ahead? Review Mackoul’s Cold Weather Checklist to prevent winter, snow and ice damage for your insured property. Our checklist provides guidance on what to do before cold weather, during cold weather and during snow accumulation. The list includes areas to check for wet-pipe sprinkler systems, dry pipe systems and anti-freeze systems. We’ve also included a Snow and Ice Incident Report Template to help you out while reporting cold weather incidents.

You can also check out our Building Winterization Checklist for additional tips this year.
