Fall is an ideal time of the year to be in the outdoors and get out to see the beautiful fall foliage.  Make the most of the season by checking out the below fun fall activities.

Oktoberfest at Hunter Mountain

Greene County, NY

This is a FREE 4-weekend long event, features authentic German and German-American entertainment. Experience live entertainment and great food surrounded by the beauty of the northern Catskills.  The fall festival includes numerous vendors, free crafts for the kids, and much more. Horseman’s Hollow in Sleepy Hollow

Sleepy Hollow, NY

During the month of October, Philipsburg Manor is taken over by ghosts, ghouls, vampires, and witches all at the service to the Headless Horseman himself! Following the tale of the Legend of Sleepy Hollow, you’ll walk a haunted trail filled with frightening dark corners and unexpected spooky surprises. Not for the faint of heart. Fishkill Farms

Hopewell Junction, NY

Fishkill Farms has a variety of 15 different organic apples and fall favorite activities like hayrides, music, and bbq.  There’s live music every weekend through October, and visitors claim the apple cider donuts are the best they’ve ever had.  In addition, they have a diverse selection of fruits and vegetables that you can purchase from the farm store.

Harbes Family Farm

Mattituck, Long Island

The Harbes Family farm has been in business for over 13 generations.  Over the years, it has become a destination where families can enjoy anything from an abundant farm stand to their award-winning wines. In the fall, the farm hosts a number of festivals featuring pumpkin picking, apple picking, corn mazes, hayrides and much more!

Hacklebarney Farm Cider Mill 

Chester, NJ

Learn how to make apple cider at the historic cider mill built in the 1860s.  Also available is pumpkin picking and a children’s corn maze from mid-September through October.

Annual New Jersey Botanical Gardens Harvest Fest and Craft Fair

Ringwood, NJ

This family-friendly, event features hayrides, pumpkin games, face painting, applesauce making, food vendors, music and dancing, free garden tours, exhibits, an autumn Plant Sale and more!

 Lyman Orchards

Middlefield, CT

One of the oldest family-owned business in America, Lyman Orchards dates back to 1741.  A great place for family fun activities including pumpkin picking, pick-your-own fruits, locally sourced food and handmade pies.
