Samantha Tucci joined Mackoul Risk Solutions as a Commercial Lines Associate in 2012. In 2014, she received her ACSR designation while working at Mackoul. She moved into the New Business Department in 2015.

She studied Liberal Arts at Nassau Community College and her previous employment included purchasing print music for a national retailer. In her free time, she enjoys movies, music, working out and DIY projects.

Get to Know Samantha

What does your title mean to you?
Creating a relationship with a new client is number 1.  If the insured doesn’t trust you,  it’s not going to work.  I aim to make our new insureds confident in Mackoul because we will strive to provide them with the best service around and get them exactly what they need to put their minds at ease.

What gets you fired up about coming to work?
I really enjoy remarketing an account. Finding better coverages and getting our insureds more competitive premiums makes my day.

What’s your biggest success to date at Mackoul Risk Solutions?
Passing my New York State brokers license and ACSR designation. They were not easy exams and getting through them was a great feat!

Why did you go into Insurance? What do you enjoy most?
I went into insurance because of Mackoul Risk Solutions. I was referred by another employee and told what a great place it was to work. It is a great organization with a fabulous staff who supported me through insurance school and taught me everything I know. Insurance is forever changing so there is never a boring day.

What advice would you give to someone interested in starting a career in insurance?
Insurance is not an easy field, but it’s very rewarding. Your education will never end, providing a client with protection and peace of mind is a great feeling and everyone is always going to need insurance!

Who would you most like to meet and why?
John Travolta. Ever since I was a kid and saw Grease for the first time I have always loved John Travolta.

What character trait do you most admire?

What is the best advice you have ever been given?
The time is going to go by anyway, you might as well be getting all you can out of it.

Describe your typical day at Mackoul Risk Solutions.
I get in the office and say hello or good morning to everyone. I start up my computer and go through all the emails and voicemails I have. There is open dialogue between the staff on scenarios or issues we have to figure out daily. I review accounts and submit applications to carriers that will best fit the insured’s needs searching for the best coverage and best pricing. I have lunch with about ten of my coworkers everyday in our lunch room which is always a good time. We have a meeting or two to go over any upcoming changes or issues with carriers or insureds. I bind policies, follow up for additional information we need and try to get through as much as I can before leaving for the day.

What is the one thing you cannot do without?
The people in my life. I’m very lucky to have a lot of awesome people in my life, and couldn’t live without them.

Can you share your favorite quote? What does it mean to you?
“Be present in all things and thankful for all things.”

Time flies, and you never know when it will be over. Enjoy and soak up every moment!

If you had to eat one meal, every day for the rest of your life, what would it be?
Sandwiches! They can vary, so I’d have lots of options!
